The Icon: Meryl Streep in Manhattan

Sometimes, all you need is a classic black & white look.

It's been years since I've watched Woody Allen's acclaimed masterpiece Manhattan (1979) and I must admit, I've only seen it once. Though it was enjoyable (as most Allen films are), I prefer Annie Hall (1977). There's just something about this film that didn't really tickle my senses.

That is, except for Meryl Streep.

She was, simply put, absolutely gorgeous.

Even though I do often enjoy creative and dramatic looks, Meryl's was an understated elegance that is aspirational.
